Abstract

Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. It mainly invades the skin and peripheral nervous system. In patients with compromised immunity, deep tissues and organs can be involved. And in severe cases of leprosy, disfiguration and disability of extremities occur.
