Abstract
The healing practice of traditional healers is described in terms of: concepts of illness and health, the consultative process, diagnosis, treatment(s), and prevention. A traditional healer describes her healing practice. Incidents involving divination and the extraction of evil spirits are described. I offer a comparison between western and African healing approaches, and end with a note about African witchcraft.
