Spinal Osteotomy

Abstract

Spinal deformity corrective surgery is one of the most challenging surgical disciplines requiring thorough preoperative preparation, intraoperative technical execution, and diligent and compulsive postoperative care. All aspects of care must be performed with the greatest of efficiency and geared toward the neurologically safe correction of the deformity with minimal patient morbidity. This chapter will detail the key principles, guidelines, and tips for the successful treatment of all spinal deformity procedures and patients.
