Abstract
Disregarding, for a moment, the sudden alteration of internal and external market conditions during the Great Depression, let us appraise the pattern of allocation of foreign capital entering the East European economies via public and private channels. We shall consider later the rationality of allocation from the standpoint of radical structural changes brought about by the Great Depression.
