Abstract

‘It is the task of the clinician, by seeking the normal reflexes in the patients in question, to ascertain the absence or disturbance of these reflexes and — in so far as the relevant anatomical and physiological factors are known — to draw conclusions herefrom as to the site, nature and causation of the altered mode of reaction, in order to gain from and in these data a knowledge of the point of attack, the desired change and the possibilities of effective treatment.’
