Abstract

A survey of impressions gathered during the Strabismus Symposium held by the Netherlands Ophthalmological Society in December 1943 leads only to the conclusion that this Symposium served to show once again how divided are opinions as to the origin and cause of strabismus. This is a sign that no single theory is so satisfying or so well-founded that it can be accepted unreservedly as a basis for further work.
