Abstract

Recent developments in the study of the spectrum of the solar corona are reviewed. These include the X-ray spectrum — both line emission and continuum — the radio spectrum and infrared observations. Recent attempts to interpret the profiles of emission lines in the visible spectrum are discussed in some detail. All spectral studies give evidence of a considerable range of temperatures in the corona.
