Le climat de l’Australie a déjà été très bien étudié par les savants australiens (J. Gentilli, G. W. Leeper, J. A. Prescott, les membres du Bureau de Météorologie australien, etc....). Les pages qui suivent apportent le point de vue d’un botaniste ayant étudié pendant trente ans le bassin méditerranéen avec lequel le Sud de l’Australie a tant de ressemblances quant au milieu climatique. Elle n’ont pas la prétention d’être une monographie, même élémentaire.
