Abstract
The Australian freshwater crustacean fauna consists of much the same elements as occur in other continental masses. There is only a small distinctive component consisting of the Syncarida and Phreatoicoidea. Though these two groups are not entirely restricted to Australia they are certainly best developed in this continent.
