Overzicht
Slechts weinig is bekend over de oecologie van vegetaties op muren. Het onderzoek begon in Nederland, maar breidde zich later uit over o. m. Engeland, Belgié, Luxemburg, Frankrijk, Italié en West-Duitsland. Op bijna 1200 plaatsen werd de vegetatie van verticale muren geanaly-seerd. Ook werden op 177 plaatsen vegetaties tussen straatstenen onder-zocht, omdat deze vegetaties dikwijls overeenkomsten vertonen met be-paalde typen van muurvegetaties.
