Abstract
What are, so we may ask in view of all the foregoing, the requirements for a librarian? For it is obvious that, together with the growth of the library and the increase of its problems, the task of the librarian has not only extended itself, but also changed its character to such an extent that the contemporary librarian cannot but be considerably different from one of a few generations back.
