Abstract

This chapter is based on observations made by the authors of psychiatric and medical facilities in China during June 1978.1 As members of the Rural Health Care Systems Delegation of the Committee on Scholarly Communication with the People’s Republic of China, we visited production brigade health stations, commune hospitals, county hospitals, municipal and provincial hospitals, university teaching centers, and psychiatric facilities in six provinces of north and south China.
