Abstract
In this article some results are reported, which have been made by teaching a curriculum unit on ecological ethology in primary school, called “Tiere der Savanne”. Both cognitive and motivation tests show that this subject is adequate to children of this age, regarding their interests and also their pre-knowledge. General goals of this unit are the achievement of an insight into regulation between predator and prey, and the ability to distinguish between scientific information and spectacular interpretation in animal films.
