Abstract

The Swedish Law of Contracts is, like that of many other countries, a mixed bundle of general and special rules. However, the mixture is a fairly original one, except for the fact that in the other Scandinavian countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway—the set-up is about the same. In order to understand the Swedish situation, it is necessary to recall a few basic facts regarding legislation and its place in the Swedish legal system.
