Some Basic Features of Swedish Constitutional Law

  • Chapter

Abstract

The study of Swedish constitutional law derives part of its distinctive character from the fact that constitutional law is a branch of law that has been the object of extremely extensive and profound reforms, which have been going on ever since the beginning of the 1950s. These efforts after having first led to some partial constitutional reforms, resulted in the adoption of a new Constitution in 1973–74. The work of reform has since continued by the making of complementary additions in various respects and will still not be quite complete at the end of the 1970s.
