Abstract

This discussion is intended both as a commentary on Keller et al.’s most useful contribution and as a commentary on the field of knowledge that they have done so much to develop. It is further intended to represent the perspectives of two tropical ecologists on work that has been initiated and developed primarily by atmospheric scientists.
