Abstract

Large to very large, flat, leaf-shaped distomes. Oral and ventral suckers are closely proximate. Caeca long, with dendritic lateral branches, or simple and unbranched. Testes occupy posterior body, usually tandem, highly branched, may be rounded, cirrus sac present. Ovary pre-testicular, somewhat lateral, much branched. Vitelline glands follicular, profusely developed, lateral, become confluent in posterior body. Receptaculum seminis reduced or absent. Uterus with few transverse folds, in front of anterior testis and filled with large sized, thin-shelled and operculate eggs.
