Abstract
Planning and control is required in order to achieve a good economic result of tree harvesting operations. Planning is a number of decisions concerning future activites. It leads to a program of actions that vary in nature and extent depending on the length of the plan and the size of the area concerned, forest activities required and the necessary resources of i.a. labour, machines, routes of transport etc.
