Production of Salt Tolerant Rice by Introduction of a Gene Encoding Catalase, kat E

  • Chapter
Plant Biotechnology 2002 and Beyond

Abstract

Salt loading is one of the most serious environmental stresses that cause adverse affects on the growth of plants, leading to decrease in the productivity of crops. At present, 10% of available land for cultivation of crops is polluted with salt stress in75 countries in the world.
