Abstract

A simple model which simulates various aspects of the dynamics of dunes is proposed. Using the model, we reproduce the initiation and the evolution processes of barchan dunes, seif dunes, and other types of dunes. This model is considered as one of the minimal models which extracts the essential morphodynamics of dunes.
