Abstract
I am very glad that the editor of this book has chosen this very theme. If I had personally chosen the theme for this volume, I would have chosen precisely this, or something very similar. Needless to say, there are several reasons for my delight in this topic, perhaps the most important of which is the experience of my homeland. By this I mean both its recent experience and the experience that my country nurtures in its memories over almost a millennium.1
