Part of the book series: Contributions to Phenomenology ((CTPH,volume 36))

Abstract

In a lecture that you gave in the year of publication of Beiträge zur Philosophie you pointed out that

one of the important tasks of doing philosophy in the future consists in rewriting the transcendentally implemented analytic of Dasein in Being and Time according to the being-historical perspective (seinsgeschichtliche Blickbahn).2

The following conversation with Professor von Herrmann took place in the fall of 1993 in Freiburg i.Br. During a three month period and in regular weekly sessions, I, as the co-translator of Beiträge zur Philosophie (Vom Ereignis), discussed with Professor von Herrmann difficulties of reading and translating this work. I wish to express my gratitude to him for being so generous with his time and knowledge.
