Abstract
At the very beginning I must confess that there is no particular Hindu point of view from which I can try to synthesise the views represented by the learned contributors to the Third Expo Discourse at Hanover during 22–23 June 2000. What I am attempting here is to organize their views from my point of view, which, one may feel, has its Hindu cultural underpinnings.
