The Decade’s Search for the Killer Ap in μ-TAS

  • Conference paper
Micro Total Analysis Systems 2000

Abstract

A brief overview of microfluidic systems is presented, followed by an examination of the increasingly wide range of applications of μ-TAS and microfluidic devices. Expanding new application areas for microfluidics are itemized and briefly discussed, including Proteomics, Biology on a chip and synthesis on a chip. Examples of microfluidic systems for Proteomics being developed at the University of Alberta are then presented, in order to exemplify what these systems may ultimately be capable of in this burgeoning new area.
