Abstract
We saw at the end of the last chapter that similarity-creating metaphors present us with a paradox. On the one hand, they show that similarities hitherto unseen can be made real. On the other hand, the creation of similarity seems to be quite constrained. The problem is to resolve this paradox somehow and to show how the similarities are created, where they come from, and to make explicit the invisible hand that constrains this creation.
