Abstract
The logicism of Frege, which undoubtedly was inspired to a great extent by the platonism of his master, H. Lotze, is not so much a new system of speculative philosophy as a specific theory concerned with the foundations of pure mathematics. It is directed against all sorts of other doctrines that I shall summarize under three heads: empiricism, formalism and intuitionism.
