Abstract
In this chapter we consider the motion of a thin slug of a non-active chemical during a two-phase displacement. If the slug volume is much less than the reservoir pore space, the system of equations of two-phase multi-component displacement will contain a new characteristic length, the linear dimensions of the slug, in which case the displacement process cannot be described adequately by a large-scale approximation [13]. The change in shape of the slug in the reservoir will be governed mainly by diffusion [50,100].
