Abstract
In vertical displacement from thick heterogeneous reservoirs, the hydrocarbon recovery will be depend upon the premature breakthrough of the injected gas through vertical fractures and high-permeability zones and the presence of low-permeability lenses and screens. To be able to plan the optimal development of a reservoir by means of vertical displacement, we need to determine how the rates of injection and production, the reservoir pressures, and the degree of heterogeneity affect oil recovery.
