Abstract
On the basis of a Tarskian semantics a notion of truth is formulated which depends on languages and models. With the thought experience of Theseus’ ship it is illustrated that a priori considerations play an important part in the determination of the objects, which are the elements of the underlied universe. By applying the notions of the object language to these objects, knowledge of the extension of “truth” is aquired. This notion of truth is not an absolute concept. It is relative to the expressive power of the language and to the a priori rules that govern the use of the linguistic expressions.
