Abstract

The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) is sponsoring the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) The major data collection phase of this study is scheduled for the 1993–94 school year, and the first international report of the study is to be published in late 1995. Over 50 countries have announced their intention to participate, and their names are listed at the end of this paper.
