A Holistic View of SISs as an Innovation and the Factors Determining Success

  • Chapter
Information Technology in Educational Management

Abstract

In this chapter we first explain how we look holistically at the development and implementation of an SIS, using a multi-dimensional systemic perspective. Then we present a more detailed analysis of the variable groups that determine the usage and effects of computer-assisted school information systems. The chapter serves as a basis for further in-depth discussion of SIS-design in chapter 6, and implementation strategies in chapter 7.
