Images and Strategies: The Connection

Part of the Library of Public Policy and Public Administration book series (LPPP, volume 3)

One main goal of this study is to seek an understanding of strategic choices by means of image analysis. Perceptions and images are used to explain strategic foreign policy decisions and to explain change in policy over time. Until now, I have prepared for this task first by describing and categorizing Swedish strategies during the time period under study, secondly by giving a detailed picture of the image system of the Swedish policy-making élite during the same era, with the focus on four specific time periods.
