The Logic of Images in Foreign Policy Analysis

Abstract

In this chapter, I argue that cognitive images predispose decision-makers to choose certain strategies and behaviour. Complexes of images create expectations of other actors’ behaviour and form policy preferences. These preferences induce in actors a propensity to act in a certain way.
