Abstract

This is a book on the security strategies of weak states, and on how images of self, other states and the existing situation may determine these strategies. At the same time it is a book on change and continuity in the foreign policy of one state, Sweden, and especially about developments in Swedish neutrality thinking during the 19th century. Thus, this is a case study with an ambition to relate context-bound findings to propositions of a more general nature.
