Abstract
In Chapter 6, we presented the two-scale direct-interaction approximation (TSDIA) formalism for turbulent shear flow and discussed various kinds of turbulence models. In this course, some theoretical bases were given to the models that had been proposed by phenomenological approaches. A feature of the TSDIA in the derivation of turbulence models is the ability to estimate model constants. This ability is closely associated with the use of Kolmogorov’s inertial-range law.
