Evolution of the Star Formation Rate at Z∼0.2 and Z∼0.4 from Hα

Abstract

The Hα line is a direct tracer of the recent star formation. Using two narrow band filters tuned to Hα at z ~ 0.2 and z ~ 0.4, candidates to be emission-line galaxies are detected and the value of the Star Formation Rate (SFR) density is computed. The evolution of the SFR is clearly seen at z ~ 0.4.
