Abstract
The book which grew out of those experiences reflects his expertise, and gives a diligent account of many aspects of Gödel’s life. Yet the reader should be aware that by far the most exciting of those aspects is the works and manuscripts of Gödel, while from the outside his life was short of adventurous incidents of broader interest. If the noblest aim of the biographer is to stimulate the readers’ interest to study the original works by Gödel, then Dawson has succeeded as an author.
