Abstract

Historically, the logic of junctors was developed independent of the aristotelian syllogistic in the school founded by Euclid of Megara (ca. 400 b.c.) and subsequently by the Stoics (especially Chrysippus, ca. 250 b.c.). The megaric-stoic logic started from the conjunction “and” and the negation “not” and investigated the implications between sentences composed with these.
