Abstract
After an acoustic survey has been conducted in accordance with the practical guidelines described earlier, the analysis is the final stage in which, all being well, useful results are derived from the collected data. Depending on the objectives of the survey, we may have to estimate the abundance of the species of interest, the geographical distribution of fish concentrations and/or the age structure of the population. In addition, some indication of the accuracy of the results is necessary.
