Abstract
With society evolving in terms of demographic, technological, workplace, economic, lifestyle and organizational changes, new learning challenges and approaches are imperative if society is to cope. One response to these environmental changes is the development of effective partnerships between learning communities and those stakeholders having a vested interest in the skills, attitudes and experiences of those within their organization. The ALPS® model, developed by Pacific West Training Ltd. in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, facilitates the establishment of unique learning environments, which combines both experiential (“hands-on”) and more traditional methods of learning and enables mutually beneficial productive partnerships.
