Abstract
Modelling the spectral energy distribution (SED) of asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars is one of the most important diagnostic tools to study the chemical composition of the cosmic dust grains. The extended circumstellar envelopes around AGB stars are places of dust formation and important sources of recycled interstellar matter.
