Simulation of the Motion of Particles in Turbulent Flow

  • Chapter
Direct and Large-Eddy Simulation IV

Part of the book series: ERCOFTAC Series ((ERCO,volume 8))

Abstract

We describe numerical methods for DNS and LES of turbulent pipe flow including particles. The method is developed to study the possibility to describe the dispersion of particles by a Langevin equation for particle velocity. To this end the accurate prediction of space-time velocity correlation functions is important.
