Abstract

In academic life it is easy to acknowledge the work of others. You simply provide an appropriate reference or citation. But how do you acknowledge an influence and spirit that pervades an entire body of work? I don’t know how to, but Heinz Post’s critical spirit and his emphasis on experiment and on the importance of the actual practice of science to the philosophy of science has influenced everything I’ve done. The best I can do is to say thank you.
