Abstract
This paper deals with enforcement of arbitral awards in Eastern Europe, geographically this refers to the member countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA), ie, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic (GDR), Hungary, Poland, Romania and the Soviet Union. The limited space available does not allow a detailed systematic country by country analysis but only to develop the main aspects which are of special interest for East/West economic relations.
