Abstract

The title is by Helmut Wagner for a collection of pages from the end of the manuscript used by Richard Zaner when he prepared for publication most of the first (and only) part of a book manuscript originally intended to comprise five parts.1 The manuscript was written during the summers of 1947 to 1951, chiefly during vacations Schutz spent at Lake Placid in New York and at Estes Park in Colorado.2

  8. The manuscript breaks off here. I find it difficult to decide whether Schutz intended these pages as a continuation of the larger manuscript, or whether they were intended as additions and clarifications of what he had already written. They seem to presuppose and expand his discussions in Reflections on the Problem of Relevance,Chapter 3, section E, p. 66, and F, p. 70. [FK]
