Abstract

Detecting extremely weak light emission means to measure photon fluxes down to a few photons per second or rdiation power of the order of 10−19 W in the VIS. Though this is technically possible to do, one needs special detectors and methods of signal processing and it can be performed mostly only on very slowly changing light signals over long integrating or counting times.
