Abstract
The common logical structure underlying the theorems of Bell and of Kochen and Specker is analysed. Nine distinct postulates are enunciated, of which seven can be tested experimentally (or derived from quantum theory). The remaining two postulates are of counterfactual nature. They lead to disagreement with experiment (Bell) or to a logical contradiction (Kochen and Specker). No use is made of hidden variables nor of cryptodeterminism in any other form.
