Part of the book series: ISPRA Courses on Reliability and Risk Analysis ((ISPA,volume 5))

Abstract

This paper provides a brief presentation of several of the most frequently used parametric models for common cause failure analysis. The concept of common cause basic event is introduced and used to establish relations between various parametric models. Generalized formulas to estimate the frequencies of common cause basic events are provided for each parametric model.
