Abstract
The membrane-bound chloroplast ATP-synthase, CF0F1, catal-yzes reversibly proton transport-coupled ATP-synthesis and ATP-hydrolysis. The chloroplast ATP-synthase can exist in — at least — four different states, an inactive, oxidized state, E redi , an inactive, reduced state.(math), and both species can be brought into an active state by membrane energization. The relation between these different states is shown in Fig. 1.
