Turbo Product Codes for an Orthogonal Multicarrier DS-CDMA System

Abstract

In this article it is suggested a class of product codes and its application to a multicarrier DSCDMA system. The iterative (turbo) decoding of this class is based on a very simple minimum distance decoding of the component codes. Performance simulation results for various coded systems are compared with capacity calculations and reveal a good trade-off between complexity and performance.
